Harry Potter vs LOTR 2

Hi, this is part 2 to the questions I'd ask myself about on Harry Potter and LOTR. Today I'll be talking to Mr. E, who has read all 7 books of the Harry Potter series, and the LOTR trilogy.

Me: Hello, and good evening

E: Good Evening.

Me: Let us get to our first question, do you like LOTR better or Harry Potter better?

E: LOTR.

Me: Very well, it seems that there are a lot of LOTR fans out there. Well, did Harry Potter drop out because of the awesomely funny way Snape died? *a sadistic laughter follows*

E: *laughs along, then abruptly pulls a long face* No.

Me: Then, is it because you like the hissing of Gollum? And can you make an imitation of it using your keyboard?

E: LOL.

Me: hmm. Not much of an imitation there, but whatever. Who is your favourite character in LOTR and do you have a secret desire to sleep with him/her?

E: . . . . . .
*after a while*

wth . . . . .

Me: That's not much of an answer. And much less a correct answer.

E: to tis question?!!?

Me: Yes. *wonders why is the interviewer getting a question like this* Basically you can answer a character's name first, then follow up by "yes, no or maybe" for the second part.

E: is thr spose to b a correct one?!
*after 15 minutes of pondering, and after the interviewer started to get a bit impatient*

i m bad at such questions, cos i m secretly trying to organize an orgy fest w all the hot characters, meaning no monsters, house elves, but since veelas r so hot.. i ll make an exceptions.

Me: very well. Thank you, and have a good evening. It's past my bedtime now.
E: You're welcome.

Harry Potter vs LOTR

I took to my liberty to ask some questions to friends of mine on the 2 series/movies. Today, I will be interviewing Mr. W.

Me: Hello and good morning, mr W.
W: Hi.

Me: Have you read the latest Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
W: Yes.

Me: Okay, good, just what we needed, and I assumed you read all 7 books of the Harry Potter series, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy?
W: You can put it that way.

Me: Good. So we shall go into our first "real" question, shall we? Well, which series did you like better, LOTR or Harry Potter?
W: Wow, you sure start with a tough question. I enjoyed both series real well. I think LOTR has the edge.

Me: Did you like LOTR better because of the Gollum and his hissing?
W: Mm. I don't find it particularly sexy if that's what u're asking.

Me: *Sits upright* Certainly not. What do you think of characters who refers themselves in 3rd person?
W: These people can be more intelligent that others because they tend to look at things in a different perspective. Take W and his answer to the interview right now. W is a smart guy. see the connection?

Me: Very well. Let us move on to the next question. Who is ur favorite character in LOTR, and do you have a secret desire to sleep with him?
W: hmm.. probably Aragorn, maybe Legolas. And for the second part of the question, I'd guess no, because if there were "secret" desires, it would be secret, even to myself.

Me: Thank you very much for ur time.
W: You're welcome.

Sometimes the truth can be pretty devastating

A friend and I were chilling out on the 5th floor of Midvalley City. All of a sudden she said in astonishment, her eyes gazed straight at a booth where there are models having make-ups.

Friend : "wa, got leng lui o,"

Me (not being aware of the surroundings, instinctively replied): "where?".

Friend : "I thought guys like to look at pretty girls one, what's wrong with you?"

Me : . . .

OUCH!

The damage was done.

I have been thinking of alternative endings if this conversation ever comes up again.

Scenario 1
Friend : "I thought guys like to look at pretty girls one, what's wrong with you?"
Me : (Calm, look around for a while) "Nothing's wrong with me, but I really can't see any pretty girls, you know, my standards are quite high"

Scenario 2
Friend : "I thought guys like to look at pretty girls one, what's wrong with you?"
Me : I don't pick people out because they don't look pretty, if not what am I doing here with you.

yes, I know it's a bit sour... but that's what u tried to hit me with first!

Scenario 3
Friend : "I thought guys like to look at pretty girls one, what's wrong with you?"
Me : Yeah, obviously I like to look at pretty girls, but it's hard to look anything past the one beside me.. (probably the more civil option at the moment, but side effects include high possibility of eternal damnation )

Scenario 4
Friend : "I thought guys like to look at pretty girls one, what's wrong with you?"
Me : . . . (but with a much more cooler, nonchalant look on the face)

yeah.. i think 4 is a better choice.

Quote of the Year?

From Black Shoes Diaries (a penn state blog). When asked "
If you had to choose between being a fan of The Ohio State University, The University of Michigan, and Notre Dame who would you choose and why?

Michigan hands down. Buckeyes think winning national championships is their birth right. Notre Dame fans think your respect is their birth right. Michigan fans think not having to talk to stupid people is their birth right.
This guy's good, and quick to right all wrongs in the world.

The Good Ol' Days

Recently I went on digging around in my old computer. And then I found this screenshot from an old MMORPG that I have not been playing for more than a year, mostly due to school work, and being away.
Yes, you guessed it, my character is the chick in the middle

When I saw it, there's this feeling going through me, like 80% nostalgia, and 20% regret that I can't get to know more about my guildies. In fact, these 2 other "guys" were the first few guildies that I ever had in my life.

This game is called DO, but it is not my first MMORPG. My first MMORPG was Cronous, until it became pay 2 play when I hit level 42! !!. I was more of an introvert gamer that time, spending most of my time levelling. But it became different when i started playing DO. The players are different, I don't know how, but it happened to me that once I looked at the picture, I knew the player's names almost immediately.

my character putting an arm on his shoulder. It takes some skill to take screenshots like this! ;P
Then I saw this other screenie, the only other one I found lying around. The guildie I have in the picture was a 52 year old retired Vietnam veteran from the war (although his character don't look like it)., and hopefully he is a 54 year old one right now Well we kinda talked about the 911 stuff that went on like 2 years before i started playing the game. In that screen, as you may read the chat logs, he was teaching his son in RL how to make french toast. haha.. no one taught me how to make french toast, but I kinda learned it myself anyway. well, if u're wondering, his son played DO too.

Well, now, DO's server has already been closed down, and everyone else left for other games, WoW/Dota/GunBound/Lineage (if lineage is still there)/Maple Story etc. So, everything remains a memory. Who the people were behind the masks of their RPG characters will unfortunately remain unknown, but that was probably why I played so much MMORPG in the first place.

Editor's note: Yeah, and sorry because this is like my first "real" post since months ago.

About this blog

A lot of stuff about what I think, and not what I am about. Which is good, because I would be able to make fun of Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Penn State, and discuss on our futility against Ohio State. (But Woo Shoelace!)

I still think the word "god" should not be capitalized, because like oxygen or air or universe, it's an entity, and is not specific or special in its meaning.
